Welcome to our Meet the Team series, where we look at the lives of various Planit team members from across the company. We caught up with Aishwarya Varsha, a consultant with our Hyderabad team since 2019, to find out about her experience and skills, how to deal with time crunch, and her love for cooking.
What is your career background?
I hold a Master of Business Administration degree and am approaching ten years working in functional testing.
What are your key areas of expertise?
I specialise in web application, point-of-sale device, and supply chain order management testing. My key skills include Agile testing, requirement analysis, troubleshooting, and project management. I am also familiar with database management systems and data reporting/visualisation.
What do you love about your job?
I like that I get to learn new technologies and work with different teams. Such variety has helped me grow both professionally as well as personally.
Being a single point of contact between the client and offshore teams has also given me an opportunity to develop my leadership and team management abilities.
What makes you great at your job?
It’s my ability to develop a good relationship with stakeholders and fellow team members, as well as my communication skills.
What do you love about your team?
What I appreciate about my team is their willingness to take on new challenges and then work hard on completing them on time. They are always supportive of my decisions and are unified in achieving our goals at the highest quality.
What do you love about working for Planit?
The great thing about Planit is the opportunity to work with different clients and gain experience in various domains. Then there’s the unlimited access to the company’s testing and Agile courses and certifications, which help to expand my expertise whenever I need it.
There’s also the opportunity to visit or relocate to client sites, both short- and long-term. They not only offer the chance to work in parallel with the clients and understand their business needs more closely, but also go to other countries.
What's your favourite challenge solved in the line of duty?
During the final phase of execution of the project, our team identified duplicate payment processing for customers based out of South Australia. If unresolved, this would have caused a major impact post go-live to the client’s revenues, as well as their reputation.
What was the solution and results?
Go-live was due in four days and this was a crucial change to be retested and deployed. Considering the time crunch, I asked our QA team to work extra hours on weekdays and provide weekend support.
This helped us retest the critical business flows on both lower and higher QA environments targeting the specific problem areas. We also involved business owners to cross-check our test cases and suggest if any additional testing was required.
The go-live was successful, as all required exit criteria were met, and no critical issues were identified.
What have you been doing in your free time recently?
I am an avid traveller and I like exploring new places. I also love cooking different Indian and Italian cuisines on weekends.
Besides these, I also have a penchant for dancing and writing. I am currently working towards becoming a professional writer and a home-baker.
