However, an understanding of Agile concepts and terminology, awareness of Scrum, Kanban and XP, a working knowledge of software and hardware development processes is highly recommended for people intending to take the SAFe Practitioner (SP) certification exam.

Candidates are assessed at the end of the SAFe for Teams 5.0 course with a closed book, 90 minutes web-based multiple-choice exam. Candidates must attain a combined score of 35/45 (77%) to obtain certification as a "SAFe Practitioner".
