This forward thinking grass-roots organisation celebrates and inspires girls to consider rewarding and diverse careers in technology.
Based in Adelaide, HerTechPath runs interactive workshops at local schools to provide visible role models that inspire young females to consider a career in technology, cyber security, and STEM. It uses a grassroots approach to address the lack of gender diversity in the technology industry, building a community of enthusiastic, passionate, and generous women in the sector who want to give back and are curious about technology and how this can enhance our future.
“Providing an opportunity and a platform for girls to be educated about the progressive industry of technology, and to inspire their minds to be curious, is the greatest gift that modern society can provide to young women,” said Emma Pilcher, Chief People & Culture Officer at Planit. “HerTechPath is doing this and more, so we need to celebrate that and support this initiative in every way possible. With the ACS Australia’s Digital Pulse 2021 report finding that women only comprise 29% of the technology workforce, increased female participation will be critical to strengthening Australia’s ICT potential in the years ahead.
