“I was a bit anxious to move to another country for work, but also excited about the opportunity. Fortunately, the fantastic support by Planit’s HR team and management as a whole made the whole process of relocating less stressful than it could have been.”
Ashwini Mahanti, Engineer, Planit
Having spent eight years at a global enterprise software corporation in India, Ashwini Mahanti decided it was time to try something different.
“After working with known products and methodologies for so long, I was eager to challenge myself in a new environment,” she says. “Little did I know at the time that this would be more than simply changing a job.”
An opportunity to join Planit came up in 2017. Not only was it the new and challenging work that Ashwini was looking for, but it was at Planit’s Brisbane office, which would require her to relocate to Australia.
“I was a bit anxious to leave my family to move to another country for work, but also excited about the opportunity,” she says. “Fortunately, the fantastic support by Planit’s HR team and management as a whole made the whole process of relocating less stressful than it could have been.
Ashwini started off as a Senior Analyst before becoming an Engineer. After 18 months at Planit, she has already worked for several clients in various roles that took advantage of her years of SAP experience, as well as the new skills and knowledge she picked up at Planit.
“I’ve been with Planit for over a year,” Ashwini says. “But with all of the things I’ve achieved in that short amount of time, it feels like I have been here much longer.”
In addition to finding satisfaction from her challenging work, Ashwini has enjoyed the various social gatherings held at the Brisbane office throughout the year.
“My first Planit Christmas party by the beautiful Brisbane river was really memorable,” she says. “I got to meet Planit’s top management for the first time, and I also made friends with a lot of colleagues whom I haven't met before.”
Another personal highlight came at the following end of financial year party.
“I was presented with a Supernova award for the work I had done months earlier,” Ashwini says. “I was amazed and happy to receive it, since I had been less than one year with the company at that point.”
