“After a gap of seven years, Planit gave me the chance to demonstrate my skills in the competitive Australian market. I was, and I still am, challenged to prove my strengths and abilities, but Planit has always been there to guide me and recognise my efforts.”
Beenish Aquil, Engineer, Planit
Beenish Aquil started her IT career in software engineering. The next eight years were then spent working in a variety of areas, from design, development, and implementation to analysis, testing and support.
The upward trajectory of her career meant that she eventually became responsible for leading change management across multiple clients in the Southeast Asia region. However, due to family commitments, she moved to Saudi Arabia and took a seven-year break from development.
It was when Beenish moved to Australia in 2015 that the opportunity to return to development came up. This time, it was not in coding but testing.
“I’ve worked in almost every phase of the SDLC [Software Development Life Cycle], and I found testing to be the most critical step when it comes to development time and quality,” Beenish says. “It made sense that one day I would focus on it exclusively.”
One year after arriving in Australia, Beenish became a test analyst with Planit in Melbourne. Her development background came to good use at a variety of clients, which led to her current position of Testing Engineer.
“After a gap of seven years, Planit gave me the chance to demonstrate my skills in the competitive Australian market,” Beenish says. “I was, and I still am, challenged to prove my strengths and abilities, but Planit has always been there to guide me and recognise my efforts.”
In addition to the support she has received, another thing that Beenish likes about Planit’s culture is the “flexibility and freedom to learn and succeed the way you want to.”
“From my first day at the Melbourne office to my current engagement client-side, Planit has always believed in and support my potential,” Beenish says. “I know that whenever I encounter a challenge, there is someone I can turn to, whether it is a fellow co-worker or someone in management, and know they will guide me to the best possible outcome.”
