Planit is planning to take on 90 extra consultants in 2006. The specialist for software quality management and testing, is taking this step in response to the significant increase in demand for software management and testing experts.
The extra consultants will boost Planit’s existing team and is in line with last year’s recruitment of around the same number of consultants. About 50 are expected to be employed in Melbourne, with the remainder working in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane.
Planit is seeking new employees with the right profile to be able to provide the services where demand is strongest. These are primarily test management, test team leadership, test automation, delivery management, project management and offshore quality assurance areas. The company is also looking for consultants for software quality assurance where formal risk management processes are the services in greatest demand – particularly in the telco, utilities and finance industries.
“It’s primarily large-scale enterprises that draw on our consultants’ expertise”, says Natalie Banister, HR Manager at Planit. “We’re seeing that these companies increasingly value our role as an independent appraiser on IT projects. They value our specialist capacity and the fact that our resources enable them to focus on their core business.”
